LVT the Flooring Wave that Keeps Growing!

LVT the Flooring Wave that Keeps Growing!

Today I wanted to talk about a type of flooring that is on the rise called LVT or luxury vinyl tile.

As you probably already know the trend, which appears to not be a trend but here to stay, is knocking down walls to have a more open feel to a home. Well the thing with knocking down walls, especially in a kitchen, is that leaves the floor that connects everything together open to be redone as well.

If you look at your own home you will see the hallway that connects to the kitchen, that connects to the bathroom on the same floor or even the laundry room is all connected in some way. In the past many rooms that were on the same level of the home had different floors that butted up to each other. The tile floor of a bathroom, was up to the wood floor of the hallway, which led to the tile or linoleum floor of the kitchen or carpet of a living room.

So what we are finding is the beauty of the flow of the floor throughout the level of the home. As we are tearing down walls and extending the space, you have a new opportunity to upgrade all your floors at once. More often than not…now, we are are designing homes where all the flooring is the same material which makes your space seem even larger and less broken up by so many different floor types. (although some people still love tile floors in main level bathrooms)  LVT or hardwood floors look amazing in these situations. It all depends on each individual home layout.

With crippling allergies on the rise the idea of all LVT, hardwood floors…or less or no carpet leaves the door open for so many beautiful and functional choices for flooring!!   The new LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile) is a wonderful product that everyone loves for many reasons. It is very durable, great for animals and children for that matter haha!

LVT is a luxury vinyl product that looks like stone or ceramic tile, complete with gorgeous natural colors and surface texture that feels like the real thing. No maintenance and lower cost is also an added plus!
If you would like to know even more about LVT check out this flooring blog!!!
We install a lot of LVT in homes and people love it!  If you have been to any Parade of Home tours
I’m sure you have seen it not even realizing what it was!!!!!
Here are a few examples we have done.

As I mentioned earlier our clients are loving the open look and feel of the same flooring throughout the kitchen, hallway and sometimes even into the living-dining room and bathroom on the same floor. The wood look LVT or hardwood floors are a huge hit and really do make your space seem even larger!
I hope this is helpful!
Next time you are touring a new or remodeled home take a closer look at the flooring, ask questions! I think you may be happily surprised at the products and how the flow of a floor adds so much to making a home seem bigger and more uniformly open!
Have a GREAT day!!!
