To avoid the winter blues let’s start dreaming and scheming for a spring remodel!

Where else would you want to have your 1st (for those of us who don’t grill in the winter 🙂 BARBECUE!!

…and for those of us who do grill in the winter, well, we sure wouldn’t mind an upgrade!!!

We all love entertaining … and everyone can’t wait for the first sign of the spring thaw to start grilling out and toasting to the warm weather to come!

…a great way to start is in a new PORCH!!

Here are a few porch photos we’ve done at SpaceMakers Remodeling with some great ideas for you to ponder, because sky is the limit when you get to design your own space!!

We encourage you to look at all sources to see what you’re are drawn to so we can create what you really want.

Two great sources are Houzz.com and Pinterest because they have the largest design selections to help you visualize and narrow down your options.

Now let’s get to the visuals!!

A lot of people design a porch as a little mini get away… their personal cabin attached to their home!

This is the same porch with the proud new addition of the GRILL!  … and yes because it’s a 3 season screen porch you can grill comfortably inside with no smoke!!!

YEAH!  Yes, I do know this for sure because I have enjoyed steaks off that very grill while watching a movie…  Ahhh gotta’ love 3 season porches for that very reason!

This is a 3 season extended use porch, which means this particular porch has a heated floor and EZ-Breeze windows.  This allows these fine people who live in Minnesota weather to be able to extend their use longer than the screen porch!  Oh Heck Yeah! Note the LVT “slate-look” natural stone texture without the maintenance flooring.

Although they were still awaiting the arrival of new furniture you still get the idea and feel of an indoor space feeling like your outdoors. life at home 🙂

These homeowners liked the model selections so much, they wanted everything like it but to be able to stay out there longer…to make this more a true “Minnesota” 3-season porch we added carpeting and the EZ-Breeze windows. This ended up being a favorite room and the hubby says he’s used it all but 2-months out of the year!

This is a 4 season porch off of the kitchen. We kept the oak flooring inside the main part of the home and transitioned into a 12’x16′ room that brought the outdoors in and an instant mood changer. We’ve heard over and over how porches end up being the favorite room. So much so in this case that they chose to do both a heated floor and a fireplace…we always explain that both are definitely not needed. However, this family wanted the option of turning on the fireplace or the in floor heat.

Yes, that’s called a dog house…funny thing is…one wouldn’t mind being told they’re “in the dog house” HA, after all, this is a man dream and what many want as their man cave.

The above porches are an extension of your home and bring greater appraisal square footage value…so the return on investment is great.

Below, are examples of extensions of your kitchen, which is the most important room of the home for resale, and one of the greatest return on investment. Since 9-11 people are entertaining more at home. SpaceMakers Remodeling has gotten creative with peninsula designs, expanded islands and have extended into the dining area with built-in’s andbars along the entire wall…of which our project examples shown below range from 8-foot wide to 14-foot wide.
